Diagnostic Clinics
Diseases are a major yield-limiting factor to many crops grown in Nebraska. Diseases can also be devastating to the landscape and backyard gardens. Effective management strategies to control plant diseases are centered on proper and rapid identification of the problem. Therefore, a service to provide diagnosis of plant disease was established and is available in Lincoln, Scottsbluff and a mobile facility.
The Plant and Pest Diagnostic Clinic is located in Lincoln at was formally organized in 1994 and provides diagnostic services in plant pathology, entomology, horticulture and weed science. In addition to accurate diagnosis of your pest problems, you will be provided with the most current information and recommendations.
The Panhandle Plant Disease Diagnostic Lab is located at the Panhandle Research and Extension Center at Scottsbluff and was organized in 1999. The diagnostic service provided at this lab focuses only on plant disease identification. The majority of the samples submitted consist of sugar beets or soil samples from sugar beet fields. However, diagnostic services are provided for any diseases encountered in the Panhandle.
