To advance the value-added food manufacturing industry by partnering on technical and business development from idea through ongoing market support.
An Innovative Resource for a Diverse Industry
Established in 1983, The Food Processing Center is a multi-disciplinary resource which offers both technical and business development services under one roof. This combination is rare in the food industry, which enables us to meet the needs of our diverse clients including manufacturers, entrepreneurs, suppliers, distributors, associations, retailers, and food service providers. When a project requires specialized expertise, we interact with the University of Nebraska's Food Science and Technology faculty as well as other University departments.
The role of the Food Processing Center is to enhance value throughout the process, from idea through ongoing market support. We accomplish this by providing a wide variety of customized services, all delivered in a confidential, price-competitive and timely manner.
Unique Combination of Programs and Services:
The Food Processing Center is your one-stop resource for programs and services almost as varied as food itself. We have the expertise to move your product from the drawing board to the dinner plate quickly and efficiently.
We are equipped to work with products in every major food group including grains and oilseeds, fruits, vegetables, dairy products, meat and poultry. Depending on your needs, we can provide a stand-alone service or a fully integrated package of technical and business development support. For example, the Food Processing Center can help you create new and improved food products, conduct nutritional evaluation and testing, microbiological analysis, provide food allergen research and resources, and assess consumer reaction to taste, appearance and texture. We can also help you increase shelf life and improve product safety, develop manufacturing and packaging plans, evaluate distribution channels, and capture the attention of consumers with a complete spectrum of marketing and promotional services.
As a one-stop resource, the Food Processing Center is able to streamline projects and save valuable time. Our comprehensive mix of capabilities allows us to pursue multiple aspects of your project simultaneously, eliminating the inefficiencies of working with several suppliers or service organizations. It also provides excellent overall coordination of the many tests, studies and plans required during the developmental stages.
