Soil Temperature Update
Soil temperatures are taken at 4 inches below the soil surface under bare soil.
- The two maps below represent the seven-day soil temperature average and seven-day departure from normal.
- In the table:
— the first three columns (after the station name) refer to the seven-day average soil temperature record;
— the fourth and fifth columns show the high and low soil temperatures within that period and on what day they occurred; and
— the final column indicates the average soil temperature for the previous day and is reported at approximately 6:30 a.m. (For example, the average soil temperature for Sunday is reported Monday morning.)
