Design Decisions (4H1600) Back
Age Level: 12 to 19. Intermediate
Develop a designer’s “touch” by navigating through four exciting sections of this curriculum. In Section I, “The Basic Touch”, youth will learn and apply basic design concepts to walls, windows and floors. Section II, “The Soft (Individual) Touch”, explores how to design with style as youth plan and select and care for furniture, fabrics and decorative items for a room. Section III, “The Finishing Touch” is all about accessories and adding personality and interest to a room. Section IV, “The Environmental Touch” challenges youth to create a home that is healthy, energy efficient, and conserves natural resources.

Design Decisions won a Silver award at the 2010 Association for Communications Excellence Competition. It was the category of Class 1 lb - Print: Four or More Colors.

Design Decisions Challenge 2010 (for Nebraska 4-H) - The new Design Decisions project offers a new way to showcase what youth are learning in this project – the Design Decisions Challenge. The 4-H member is challenged to be the designer -- to select a Design Challenge, evaluate the challenge, determine several possible solutions, decide the best one, and DO IT!
