Youth Curriculum Committee

The Youth Curriculum Committee provides a youth perspective for the development, marketing, and evaluation of 4-H curriculum developed in Nebraska.

The committee consists of approximately 12-15 youth members, ages 14-22. The members represent the four UNL Extension districts across the state, the different program delivery methods (club, special interest group, after-school program, school enrichment), and the eight Nebraska 4-H project areas. Members will serve a twelve-month term and can be considered for up to four consecutive terms of service.

The Youth Curriculum Committee typically meets 4-5 times per year in a location identified as convenient for most members. Video/phone conferencing, e-mail, and additional forms of technology (i.e. Facebook) will also be used to conduct meetings. In addition, members will be asked to participate in a special project during State Fair.

4-H youth who are interested in being a member of the Nebraska 4-H Youth Curriculum Committee must complete an application packet, which includes a Demographic Application, a Creative Application, and a Nomination Form.  Returning members must also complete an Application Form.  Application forms are made available in January and are due April 1 each year.
