Join the Trusted Team
4-H is the official youth development program of University of Nebraska-Lincoln Extension. Some people even say it's a young person's first class at the University. This means 4-H volunteers and helpers have access to a wide range of quality, educational materials produced by experts on topics such as theatre arts, robotics, and photography. Youth ages 5-19 choose from more than 100 project areas. 4-H programs exist in each county and are organized by UNL Extension faculty and staff. Every young person has a place in 4-H.
The 4-H Difference
As a volunteer or helper, you can provide young people with developmental assets that last a lifetime -- a positive relationship with a caring adult; an inclusive and safe environment; opportunities to value others and master a skill; and much more. Studies indicate these and other aspects of Nebraska 4-H help youth make wise decisions and choose positive paths.
Have Fun!
While 4-H is known for hands-on learning experiences and helping youth build confidence and practical life skills, it's also a lot of fun. As one college-age helper puts it, "4-H always has something fun going on. There's always something new to try."
